A 10 km run organised by the Bravery Trust for defence personnel, Federal MPs, public servants, and the community has taken place in Canberra to raise awareness for the financial support available to veterans and their families.
The Bravery Trust is a national military charity which provides current and former members of the Australian Defence Force with financial aid, financial education and financial counselling.
The Bravery Trek is an annual campaign running from September 8 until October 12 that encourages the community to participate in a run, walk, roll, or swim for 10 or 50 kilometres each week for five weeks.
The objective is to raise awareness and financial support for veterans and their families.
Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP:

“This run was all about supporting our veterans and their families, and to highlight the phenomenal work done by the Bravery Trust and the financial support available.
“I will always be on the side of our outstanding Australian Defence Force service men and women, as well as our veterans and their families.
“It was an honour to be able to participate in this Bravery Trek and to represent our community on the Central Coast in Canberra.
“I would like to thank the Bravery Trust on its work across Australia supporting our veterans and their families.
“Special thanks to the Bravery Trek Ambassadors, including SQNLDR Adon Lumbly, who I was fortunate to meet with on the run.
“Get involved by registering online via the Bravery Trek’s website and log your hours where you will receive virtual achievement badges each week for the duration of the campaign.
“I am encouraging our community to find out more and to support an important cause”, Dr Reid said.
