The 2024 Wiseberry Peninsula Winter Appeal is back and calling on the community for donations.

After several successful years, including 303 bags of donations in 2023, the Wiseberry Foundation is again asking the community for non-perishable foods such as noodles, pasta, meal base sauces, soups, tinned tuna, long-life milk, and school snacks.

Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP:

“Every year I support the Wiseberry Peninsula Winter Appeal because it directly helps locals experiencing hardship.

“I applaud everyone who helped make 2023 the biggest year yet with a phenomenal 1,588kg of donations.

“This year, with the community’s support, we’re hoping to reach 2,000kg of donations.

“If you can, I encourage you to drop by Wiseberry Peninsula on West Street, Umina, and make a generous donation of non-perishable food items.

“My thanks always go to Mary Mac’s Place in Woy Woy, and Wiseberry Peninsula for their dedication to helping our community on the Peninsula and across the region.

“Let’s make 2024 our biggest year yet!”, Dr Reid said.

Quotes attributable to Wiseberry Peninsula Senior Property Manager, Tammy Jackett:

“Mary Mac’s continue through the generosity of the community providing donations and supporting the Wiseberry Winter Appeal.

“There is an increasing number of women and children using the service that are escaping domestic violence and sleeping in their cars because it’s not safe at home.

“We are seeking donations for school snacks for children and breakfast for families that are unable to provide this on a daily basis and to help replenish Mary Mac’s Pantry.

The appeal is requesting non-perishable foods such as noodles, pasta, meal bases and sauces, soups, tinned tuna and long-life milk and school snacks”, Ms Jackett said.

To donate, visit Wiseberry Peninsula at 264 West Street, Umina Beach.
