The $130 million upgrade of Avoca Drive through Kincumber has reached another important milestone with the eTender to carry out the Concept Design and Environmental Impact Assessment Services being advertised to tenders.
The technical service will consist of preferred option selection, concept design development, environmental impact assessment activities, site investigations and specialist studies.
The Federal and State Labor Governments are investing a combined $130 million towards upgrading Avoca Drive through Kincumber to improve traffic flow and deliver infrastructure for active and public transport access.
Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP:
“The $130 million upgrade of Avoca Drive through Kincumber is progressing to another important milestone with the eTender being advertised.
“Avoca Drive through the township of Kincumber is used an average of about 26,000 vehicles a day, with heavy vehicles accounting for around six per cent of daily traffic.
“During peak travel times motorists experience congestion and slow travel times on Avoca Drive, and that is why the Federal and State Labor Governments are making this much-needed investment to address this traffic congestion.
“This upgrade has been a long time coming and was overlooked by the former federal and state Liberal governments.
“During my 2022 election campaign, I door knocked hundreds of houses in Kincumber and surrounding communities, and people told me how important it was that Avoca Drive received an upgrade.
“Only under a Federal and State Labor Government is our community receiving this upgrade.
“I will continue to update our community as works progress and encourage those interested in learning more to visit the Transport for NSW website for further details”, Dr Reid said.
