Empire Bay Progress Association has received $1000 through the Albanese Labor Government’s 2022-23 Volunteer Grants.

The association has purchased new technology which will help with its operations.

Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, says the grant funding will help ensure Empire Bay Progress Association can better manage its hall.

“I congratulate Empire Bay Progress Association on this grant funding and thank every member involved”, Dr Reid said.

“I am pleased to know that new technology such as a new phone, eftpos ‘square’, and other accessories are being put to good use”.

“Grants such as this one help support volunteers and strengthen our communities”, Dr Reid said.

Empire Bay Progress Association President, Mr Ken Shaw, says the association is thrilled to have received funding assistance.

“The Empire Bay Progress Association was very pleased to receive Federal Government funding to allow the purchase of a new phone, eftpos 'square' and accessories”, Mr Shaw said.

“All grants benefit the community whether directly through infrastructure, new or upgraded facilities or indirectly in respect to this particular grant”.

“It ensures the progress association has a reliable phone to manage hall bookings and hall maintenance while also enabling the use of eftpos facilities at progress association events allowing many people to pay via 'tap and go', Mr Shaw said.

“The progress association members and committee donate their time voluntarily to support the community. Grants that can assist members in the provision of their services are very much appreciated”.

“Many thanks to Dr Gordon Reid for his support”, Mr Shaw said.

The Federal Government’s Volunteer Grants provide not-for-profit organisations with funding of between $1000 to $5000 to support the work of its volunteers.
