Avoca Beach Public School P&C has received $2,300 from the Federal Labor Government’s 2023-24 Volunteer Grants Program.

The P&C have used the funding to purchase a new shade gazebo and to undertake repairs to the school’s BBQs.

“The Avoca Beach Public School P&C will be using funds provided by the Federal Labor Government's 2023/24 Volunteer Grant to enhance our volunteer spaces and improve our facilities.

“Specifically, we are using the grant to install a shade gazebo: This will provide our volunteers with a comfortable and shaded area when cooking BBQ's. 

Repair BBQ equipment: We are addressing some much-needed repairs to our BBQ's to ensure they are in good working condition which will allow us to continue hosting successful fundraising events for our wonderful school community.

“We are grateful for the support this grant provides and are confident that these improvements will make a positive impact for all our volunteers”, Ms Day said.

The Australian Government’s Volunteer Grants support the work of local community organisations by enabling the inclusion of vulnerable people and promoting awareness to increase participation in volunteering.

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 were available to assist eligible not-for-profit community organisations support the efforts of their volunteers.
