Plans to charge parking fees at Wyong Hospital are opposed by Central Coast Federal Members of Parliament, Emma McBride MP, and Dr Gordon Reid MP.

The NSW Government plans to charge the community to park at Wyong Hospital, despite previous campaigns to keep Wyong Hospital free from parking fees.

The plan to impose parking fees would impact healthcare workers going to work and patients and visitors accessing healthcare at the hospital.

Comments attributed to Federal Member for Dobell, The Hon. Emma McBride MP:

“The lack of public transport options means parking at Wyong Hospital should remain free of charge”.

“Having worked at Wyong Hospital for almost 10 years, I know the impact introducing paid parking would have on staff, patients and visitors”.

“I have heard from locals who have expressed their deep concerns, which I share, about the impact on the community if paid parking is introduced at Wyong Hospital”.

Comments attributed to Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP:

“The community have been loud and clear, they do not want to see parking fees introduced at Wyong Hospital”, Dr Reid said.

“The community has fought hard to ensure Wyong Hospital remains free from parking fees, and now the NSW Government wants to introduce parking fees”.

“This plan will hurt those in our community who can least afford it and will worsen health outcomes on the Central Coast”, Dr Reid said.

“I am calling on the NSW Government to abandon this plan and keep Wyong Hospital free from parking fees”.
