The Australian Government’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) provides support for children to cover the cost of some basic dental services.
This support can be used to cover the cost of check-ups, x-rays, cleaning, fissure sealing, fillings, root canals, and extractions.
Eligible children aged 0-17 years can receive up to $1,132 over two consecutive calendar years.
Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP:
“The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is an important support provided by the Federal Labor Government to assist families receiving income support to cover the cost of some basic dental services.
“Dental services can be expensive, and that is why the Federal Government is providing support to eligible families.
“It is vitally important that children do not miss out on seeing the dentist if they have issues with their teeth or mouth.
“Left untreated, these issues can develop into more costly procedures.
“I encourage families who receive income support from Services Australia and have children to take advantage of this support.
