Thomas and June Rodwell of Niagara Park have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on January 17, 2023.
Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP visited the home of Mr and Mrs Rodwell to present them with a special marriage anniversary certificate from his office and to wish the couple a happy anniversary.
“70 years of marriage truly is a remarkable milestone, and it is beautiful to see true love endure the test of time”. Dr Reid said.
“Being able to recognise anniversary milestones like Mr and Mrs Rodwell’s 70 years of marriage is one of the highlights of being a member of parliament”. Dr Reid said.
“I wish Mr and Mrs Rodwell many more years of marriage and send my best wishes to them in this joyous year”. Said Dr Reid.
Mr and Mrs Rodwell have given some helpful advice about longevity in marriage.
“It is important that you are kind and understand each other”. Mrs Rodwell said.
“You must do things together, that is what holds you both close to each other, sharing and enjoying life as a couple”. Mr Rodwell said.
“People that dance together, stay together”. Mr and Mrs Rodwell said.
Mr and Mrs Rodwell met in Cooma, married in 1953, and have raised two children together. Both have a passion for AFL and have enjoyed their lives on the NSW Central Coast.
