Ausmusic T-shirt Day is an annual day of fun and awareness on November 30 to celebrate Aussie music and raise urgently needed funds for music workers in crisis.

Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, says musicians and music workers enrich our lives and communities.

“Live music, especially local music, is marvellous and as a community we need to ensure musicians and music workers receive support during difficult times”, Dr Reid said.

“The live music industry was particularly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic which saw concerts, festivals, and live music performances either cancelled or heavily restricted”.

“During this period, many musicians and music workers fell on difficult times and required support to get through”, Dr Reid said.

“Initiatives like Ausmusic T-Shirt Day raises awareness and funds for musicians and music workers so that when these challenging periods occur, there is support ready to go”.

“In 2022, Support Act, the organisation behind Ausmusic T-shirt Day, raised over half a million dollars for music workers, through selling 2,500 t-shirts and hosting more than 700 fundraising events”, Dr Reid said.

“I am sure in 2023, the community can come together again and beat last year’s success”.

“This year I am supporting the Australian music duo, Flight Facilities”, Dr Reid said.

Music lovers can support the initiative in three simple ways either by buying your favourite Australian music merchandise, donating to Support Act, or hosting your own fundraiser.
