Every Wednesday morning from 10:25am, Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre (KNC) facilitates a food pantry for the community to access.
The KNC Food Pantry rescues otherwise edible food from ending up in the waste bins of our major supermarkets and grocery stores to provide to people who are experiencing hardship or difficult financial circumstances.
Anyone experiencing hardship or financial stress can visit the centre and pay a $5 donation for 2 bags of groceries which enable them access to a range of fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables, as well as bakery goods, tinned items, and other goods.
Supported by Coles Kincumber, Aldi Green Point, Ludo’s Gourmet Kitchen, Activate Foods Erina, Oz Harvest, Nurtured Earth Organics, Fresca Fruit Kincumber and generous members of the community. The service is always looking for more donations from local businesses and community members.
Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP:
“Kincumber Neighbourhood Centre is a fantastic resource for our community, not just for accessing information about cost-of-living support or to participate in any number of community groups that use the centre, but also for those experiencing hardship or financial stress.
“The weekly food pantry provides a range of fresh, healthy fruit and vegetables, plus bread and other bakery items at a cost of $5 for 2 bags.
“This is a phenomenal service that I have supported since I was elected in 2022, and I will continue to help the program.
“KNC Food Pantry is also calling on the community for volunteers or for donations. If you can donate, please consider dropping by with non-perishable food items including tinned foods, biscuits, cereals, and 2-minute noodles.
“I wish to thank Leanne Clarke, Manager of KNC, for her tireless work and the outstanding staff and volunteers involved with the food pantry plus the centre’s other services”, Dr Reid said.

“With a record number of people accessing our services, it is crucial to highlight that KNC Food Pantry operates without funding and relies entirely on the generosity of our community.
“Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant impact and helps us deliver this essential service every week.
