The Words on the Waves Writers’ Festival will kick off in late May and early June on the Central Coast.
Now in its third year, the festival welcomes Australia’s best authors and journalists to the region to host talks, literary workshops, and other events.
Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP met with Co-Founder Benny Agius to discuss the festival and the benefits it provides for the region.
“It was a pleasure to meet with Benny Agius, Co-Founder of Words on the Waves Writers’ Festival, and learn about the outstanding program of events that will take place during this year’s writers’ festival”, Dr Reid said.
“This will be the third year the festival has taken place on the Central Coast and its truly on its way to becoming Australia’s leading regional literary festival”.
“This year’s line-up is sure to entice avid readers and literature lovers to a range of programs including author panels, book launches, a family fun day, and much more”, Dr Reid said.
“The writers’ festival not only enriches the Central Coast’s cultural landscape but also provides a significant boost for local small businesses with visitors coming from outside the Central Coast to attend the event. These visitors then go on to stay in local accommodation options, support the local hospitality industry, and other small businesses”.
“I would encourage people on the Central Coast to take a look at this year’s festival program and support this remarkable event during this month”, Dr Reid said.
“I look forward to attending the launch and supporting this phenomenal event”.
This year’s festival theme is The Mind Swims.
The Words on the Waves Writers’ Festival will take place from May 31 to June 5 and will feature across several locations on the Central Coast.
