Kincumber High School and Our Lady Star of the Sea in Terrigal have been visited by Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP.
The visit to Kincumber High School was to provide the whole-of-school assembly with background and insight into Dr Reid’s education.
Dr Reid also visited Our Lady Star of the Sea in Terrigal and gave year six and five students a civics lesson ahead of their excursion to Canberra to learn about Australia’s levels of government.
Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, says local school visits are one of the many highlights of being a Member of Parliament.
“It is always a joy to visit local schools and speak with our younger generations about my education background and also about Australia’s levels of government”, Dr Reid said.
“I was impressed by the students’ knowledge of government and how each level has responsibility for different areas in the community”, Dr Reid said.
“The students have been paying good attention in class and that was evident in their understanding”, Dr Reid said.
“The students were able to ask questions and pretend to be journalists at a news conference”, Dr Reid said.
“It was quite nice to share a little bit about who I am, where I grew up, and importantly, what NRL team I support (The Rabbitohs)”, Dr Reid said.
