The Federal Minister for Indigenous Australians, Linda Burney MP, has been presented with a certificate of appreciation from Mingaletta in Parliament House, Canberra, by Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP.

The certificate of appreciation was presented to Minister Burney to recognise her enduring support for the Mingaletta Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation in Umina Beach.

Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, says Minister Burney has been a real support for Mingaletta over the years.

“Minister Burney has been a huge supporter of First Nations people living on the Central Coast”, Dr Reid said.

“It was an honour to have been asked by the Elders at Mingaletta to present the Minister with a certificate of appreciation to recognise her support for Mingaletta since it has operated in Umina Beach”, Dr Reid said.

Mingaletta Elder, Aunty Robyn, says Minister Burney is well loved by the people of Mingaletta.

“Linda is always there with a helping hand, we really admire her as a strong First Nations’ woman and politician”, Robyn said.

“We wish her all the best in progressing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament and constitutionally recognising First Nations people”, Robyn said.

Mingaletta Elder, Aunty Di, says Minister Burney has been a great supporter.

“Linda has seen us come a long way, and we are so proud of her. Gordon is a great representative for our people”, Aunty Di said.
