Palm Gully Park playspace in North Avoca has received an upgrade to renew aging play equipment and improve accessibility.

The playspace upgrade has been funded through the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program with additional funding from Central Coast Council.

Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP joined with Central Coast Council spokesperson, Brett Sherar, to officially announce the completion of the playspace upgrade.

“Council playspaces are important community infrastructure and provide residents and families places to relax, exercise, and connect with nature”. Dr Reid said.

“I am pleased to see the completion of Palm Gully Park playspace and look forward to the local community again enjoying the many new and improved features”. Dr Reid said.

“I wish to thank Central Coast Council and its hard-working employees on delivering a fantastic upgrade to Palm Gully Park, I know the community are very happy with the finished product”. Dr Reid said.

“I look forward to continuing to support Central Coast Council deliver improvements to infrastructure across the region”. Dr Reid said.

Central Coast Council Administrator, Rik Hart said playspaces are the heart of any neighbourhood and important community hubs.

“Council manages and maintains over 260 playspaces across the region and continues to deliver innovative and high quality placespaces where people of all ages can connect, socialise, play, learn and lead active lifestyles”. Mr Hart said.

“Funding from the Australian Government has enabled Council to renew this ageing playspace with safe and engaging equipment for the benefit of the local community”. Said Mr Hart.

The upgrade included play equipment replacement, concrete pathways, new park infrastructure, rubber softfall, and landscaping works.

The Australian Government provided $105,000 and Central Coast Council provided $5000 towards to upgrade.
