At the 2022 Federal Election, a commitment to secure Commonwealth funding to construct a footpath along Pozieres Avenue in Umina Beach was made by Dr Gordon Reid.

This funding was secured following Dr Gordon Reid’s election and construction of a footpath along Pozieres Avenue has commenced and is nearing completion.

The total funding amount secured from the Commonwealth Government for the project was $425,000.

“During the 2022 Federal Election, I spoke with many people in our community about local infrastructure issues.

“One matter that was raised with me often was the unsafe pedestrian conditions along Pozieres Avenue in Umina Beach.

“I made a commitment that I would advocate on behalf of residents and secure Commonwealth funding for a footpath.

“I am pleased to see that the funding that I was able to secure is now being utilised by Central Coast Council to construct a footpath along Pozieres Avenue.

“This footpath will improve pedestrian accessibility and allow residents to walk safely to Ocean Beach Road or Lone Pine Plaza.

“I will continue to be a strong advocate for the Peninsula and for increased infrastructure funding”, Dr Reid said.
