The Woy Woy Peninsula Swans have received $2,500 through the Albanese Labor Government’s Stronger Communities Programme.

The club will use the grant funding to purchase canteen equipment including a chest freezer and BBQ utensils.

Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, says the Woy Woy Peninsula Swans are an outstanding local sporting organisation.

“I congratulate the Woy Woy Peninsula Swans on their grant funding from the Albanese Labor Government’s Stronger Communities Programme”, Dr Reid said.

“The Stronger Communities Programme supports local organisations with infrastructure and equipment needs, I am pleased to see grant funding go towards supporting volunteers at the Woy Woy Peninsula Swans”.

“It is important that our local sporting clubs are well resourced so that they can continue supporting and encouraging younger Australians to be active and part of a sporting team”, Dr Reid said.

Woy Woy Peninsula Swans President, Ms Lara Davis, says the grant funding will support the club better manage its canteen.

“The Stronger Communities Programme funding received by the Woy Woy Peninsula Swans will be used to upgrade the canteen and BBQ facilities at our home ground at Rogers Park”, Ms Davis said.

“The canteen forms a central hub for the club, part of the socialising for parents during training and a zone of excitement for kids on game days”.

“The canteen and BBQ are run by our fabulous parent volunteers. A lot of the canteen equipment is old and required upgrading”, Ms Davis said.

“More than one of our fabulous volunteers had made suggestions on what equipment we needed to upgrade! This grant funding will be used to buy a range of new kitchen and BBQ and canteen equipment, including a chest freezer which the club needs to store ice in case of injuries”.

“The Woy Woy Peninsula Swans are thrilled to receive the funding through the Stronger Communities Programme to upgrade our kitchen and BBQ facilities and are most grateful to Dr Gordon Reid for this opportunity”, Ms Davis said.
