Davistown Progress Association (DPA) has been awarded $8,500 through the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities Programme Round 8.
The DPA will use this funding to purchase solar panels to install on Davistown Hall to ensure energy efficiency.
Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, visited Davistown Hall to announce the funding and congratulate the association.
“I am pleased to announce Davistown Progress Association as one of several successful organisations that will receive much-needed grant funding”, Dr Reid said.
“I am a supporter of renewable energy and projects that aim to make our communities energy resilient”.
“I know that with the addition of these solar panels, Davistown Progress Association will be able to reduce its overheads and carbon footprint”, Dr Reid said.
Davistown Progress Association President, Jenny McCulla, welcomed the funding.
“This solar panel installation will save our community funds in years to come and will be a valuable contribution towards us being more energy efficient”, Ms McCulla.
The Stronger Communities Programme is an annual Federal Government grant opportunity.
The grant provides not-for-profit organisations with funding of between $2,500 up to $20,000.
