Solutions to address the congestion and safety issues affecting Wards Hill Road and Empire Bay Drive intersection have been discussed between Transport for NSW and the Federal Member for Robertson at an onsite meeting.

In 2023, an online community petition was launched calling on all levels of government to address the intersection, where it received over 700 signatures and was discussed in the Australian Parliament.

Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, says he is committed to addressing this intersection.

“The community is calling on all levels of government to work together to find long-term solutions to address the Wards Hill Road and Empire Bay Drive intersection.

“I met with Transport for NSW at the start of this year because I am committed to identifying solutions for the community.

“The meeting was constructive, and we have identified challenges that must be overcome before work can start to address the congestion and safety issues at the intersection.

“I thank the community for their patience while we work on potential solutions and ask that they continue to support the online petition, and to encourage others to”, Dr Reid said.
