St Joseph’s Workshop in West Gosford operated by the St Vincent de Paul Society has received $4,939 from the Federal Labor Government’s National Shed Development Programme.

The grant funding has enabled the workshop to purchase a thicknesser which has improved the efficiency of the workshop and allowed volunteers to construct more items for people in need.

Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP:

“I applaud St Joseph’s Workshop on receiving this grant funding.

“The new thicknesser has already been put to good use and it was amazing to see it in action helping volunteers construct items for people in need.

“Your services are greatly appreciated by our local community, and we are all so thankful for the work you do.

“I look forward to visiting again soon”, Dr Reid said.

Quotes attributable to St Joseph’s Workshop Manager, Wayne Gibb.

“Thanks to funding made available through the Australian Government’s National Shed Development Programme, we were able to purchase a new thicknesser which will improve the efficiency of our operations and allow our volunteers to construct more items for people in need.

“St Joseph’s Workshop has been in operation for more than 30 years and produces thousands of items of furniture each year which the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW distributes to people experiencing hardship and disadvantage.

“The workshop provides a welcoming and supportive environment for our volunteers to connect and make an impact in the community”, Mr Gibb said.

The National Shed Development Programme aims to improve the health and wellbeing of members of men’s sheds, deliver activities, and improve the facilities and sustainability of men’s sheds across Australia.
