The Central Coast Figure Skating Club has received $1,446 from the Federal Labor Government’s 2023-24 Volunteer Grants Program.

The club has used the funding to purchase equipment that will support its volunteers during training and competitions.

“Figure skating is a spectacular sport and requires a high level of skill to participate in and perform.

“It was remarkable seeing members of the Central Coast Figure Skating Club train at Erina Ice Rink recently, and I wish them all the very best in their upcoming competitions.

“It is a joy to be supporting figure skating on the Central Coast and sport more broadly which promotes healthy lifestyles”, Dr Reid said.

“The funding provided by the Australian Government will assist our club in purchasing equipment that will allow volunteers to sit during training and competitions.

“Often our volunteers are required to stand for long periods of time and this equipment will ensure they get some reprieve.

“Erina Ice Rink is also hosting upcoming events which the community can watch, starting with Sydney Synch Fest on Friday August 23 and the NSW State Championships on Saturday October 5”, Mr Taylor said.

The Australian Government’s Volunteer Grants support the work of local community organisations by enabling the inclusion of vulnerable people and promoting awareness to increase participation in volunteering.

Grants of between $1,000 and $5,000 were available to assist eligible not-for-profit community organisations support the efforts of their volunteers.
