Radio Five-O-Plus 93.3FM has received funding through the Albanese Labor Government’s Community Broadcasting Program, administered by the Community Broadcasting Foundation.

Radio Five-O-Plus will receive $11,000 towards the costs of operating the community radio station.

Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, welcomes the grant funding and congratulates Radio Five-O-Plus.

“Radio Five-O-Plus 93.3FM is enjoyed by thousands of people living on the Central Coast every week”, Dr Reid said.

“Community radio is so important as it provides a platform for diverse groups in the community to talk about the issues affecting them, as well as broadcast marvellous music”.

“I am pleased to know that through this Federal Government grant, Radio Five-O-Plus will receive much-needed assistance to enable it to continue broadcasting across the region”, Dr Reid said.

“I look forward to supporting all our fantastic community radio stations in the years ahead”.

Radio Five-O-Plus 93.3FM Station Manager, Mr Allan Maddox, welcomes the funding announcement.

“Radio Five-O-Plus 93.3FM really appreciates all the financial support we receive from our members and especially the Community Broadcasting Foundation”, Mr Maddox said.

“The cost to operate 93.3FM community radio station and keep on air is around $250.00 per day”.

“All this money is raised from sponsor advertising, donations and recently we received a grant of $11,000 from the Federal Government”, Mr Maddox said.

“This will assist us in paying the costs of specially trained radio engineers we use to service and maintain our equipment”.

“Also, it will assist in rental and electricity costs for the transmission tower that we use to broadcast to our listeners”, Mr Maddox said.

The Community Broadcasting Program helps to produce local stories, news and cultural content reflecting diverse perspectives, people, and communities.
