Turo Reserve local playspace in Pretty Beach has received an upgrade thanks to funding from the Australian Government, Central Coast Council, and the Wagstaffe to Killcare Community Association (WKCA).
The Australian Government provided $105,000, $5000 from Central Coast Council and $9,817 provided from the WKCA.
Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, said Turo Reserve has received a much-needed upgrade to modernise the local playspace.
“I am pleased to see the completion of the upgrade to the Turo Reserve local playspace. The improvements that have taken place ensure the park is brought up to standard and can continue being an excellent community space for both young and old to enjoy”. Dr Reid said.
“My thanks to Central Coast Council and its staff on completing another local playspace upgrade”. Dr Reid said.
Central Coast Council Administrator, Rik Hart said this local playspace renewal has breathed new life into Turo Reserve and provides a hub for local families and visitors of Pretty Beach to play, socialise and enjoy the fresh air.
“Funding from the Australian Government has enabled Council to deliver a new, engaging and safe playspace, with additional contributions from the Wagstaffe to Killcare Community Association funding the looped concrete pathway to improve accessibility and provide a smooth surface for some scootering play”. Mr Hart said.
“This playspace is a great example of Council, the community and the Australian Government working together to deliver infrastructure that provides health and social benefits for the region”. Mr Hart Said.
President of the Wagstaffe to Killcare Community Association, Mr Mike Allsop, said that he looks forward to the local community enjoying the park.
“It is great to see the completion of the upgrade to Turo Reserve local playspace and I look forward to seeing many families and children once again enjoying the features of the playspace”. Mr Allsop said.
