Woy Woy Public School receives funding to plant trees for The Queens Jubilee

Woy Woy Public School has received funding to plant trees to recognise The Queen’s Jubilee through the federal government’s Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee program.

Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP has celebrated the announcement of this funding and has attended an official breaking-of-the-earth ceremony with Member for Gosford, Liesl Tesch MP, and staff from Woy Woy Public School.

“I would like to congratulate Woy Woy Public School, its principal, teachers and students for having applied and been successful in receiving funding to establish a unique learning space with native trees and scrubs”. Dr Reid said.

Woy Woy Public school has received $14,000 through the Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee program and will use the funding to build a native garden that will promote play-based learning and recognise The Queen’s Jubilee.

“It’s been great to see what Woy Woy Public School plans to build with this funding and the educational benefits that this garden will provide, including through play-based learning, studying native trees and shrubs and understanding the food that these trees and scrubs will provide to native animals and insects”. Said Dr Reid.

“I look forward to visiting when the project is complete and seeing the school community connect to nature through this garden”. Dr Reid said.

Member for Gosford, Liesl Tesch MP has said this garden will serve the school community for years to come.

“I am so excited to see this fantastic funding come through to Woy Woy Public School”. Said Ms Tesch

“Funding the planting of trees and a school garden to celebrate the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth, is a fitting tribute to a well-loved figure in our community”. Ms Tesch said.
